Codar AT5 amateur transmitter from the mid 1960's. - A.M. and
C.W. operation on the 160/80 metre bands with an input of about 10 watts. Power
units were available for mains or mobile (12 volts) use and a matching receiver
(the T28) for mobile use. Valve (tube) lineup was EF80 Vackar V.F.O. - EF80
buffer/doubler - 6BW6 class "C" power amplifier - ECC83 microphone amplifier/modulation
driver - 6BW6 class "A" modulator.
A centre-tapped modulation transformer was used giving very nice communication
quality amplitude modulation. The Vackar V.F.O. gave very good stability, using
an Electroniques inductor unit.
